Frequently Asked Questions

How can I attend AAOM 2021?

You can attend the Virtual Annual Conference in one of two ways: Live or Self-Study. Each have different requirements in order to obtain CDE. You chose your preferred option when you registered.

Live Attendees Must: Be present for each individual session Attend each live Q&A Complete session evaluations for each session The conference evaluation will not be made available until the conclusion of the event.

Self-Study Attendees Must: Review each session PowerPoint presentation Watch session recordings Complete brief post-session assessments The self-study activity is separate from the live conference, and will not open until the live conference has concluded.


How Do I Access the Live Sessions?

  • Be sure that you are logged in to the virtual platform
  • Each day, a "Join the Live Event" Zoom link will be posted in the respective "Live Sessions" block
  • A Zoom window will open to the ongoing session. All Live Sessions will run through the same Zoom link, so you are not required to leave the meeting at any point, though you may choose to do so during breaks and lunches.

How Do I Access the Recordings and Materials/Self-Study?

  • Materials and recordings from available sessions will become available along with Self-Study sessions for CDE from April 19 through May 31
  • On the main page of the virtual platform, you will see a "Self-Study" block which will contain all presentations and recordings from the live sessions, as well as post-assessments for Self-Study CDE.
  • Within each self-study session, there will be embedded video of the session, plus presentation materials for you to watch and review.

How Do I Earn CDE Credits?

Live Attendees

In order to earn CDE credits as a Live Attendee, you must:

  1. Attend the live sessions
  2. Attend the live Q&A
  3. Complete the evaluation, which will be emailed to you after the event concludes on April 17.
  4. An email containing your CE certificate will be sent to you after you have completed all evaluations for an individual session.

Important Notice: live event attendees may not earn duplicate credits within the on-demand educational activity.

Self-Study

Self-Study participants are required to watch session recordings, review the materials, and complete a post-session assessment for each individual session.

How to Access:

  • From the home page on the virtual platform, select the "Details" button under the Self-Study Sessions block
  • Use the "Overview" menu to access the recordings and tests for each session (grouped sessions like plenaries or oral medicine practice session will contain multiple assessments)
  • Select the session title under "Session Material & Assessments" on each session page to watch the recording and then "Post-Session Assessment" to complete the post-test.

Where is my CE information stored?

Your CE information will be added and stored within your AAOM member or non-member profile. AAOM members may also easily access CE information from the AAOM Member Center.

I can't attend the full program for the live event. Can I attend the Self-Study in addition?

All attendees who attend the live event will receive access to the self-study option once the option goes live. However, those who attended the live event and received CE credits for completing the session evaluations, may not take the post-assessments to receive additional credit.
